Quincy Smelter Stabilization and Rehabilitation

 

The Quincy Smelting Works located in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, was once a major component of the Quincy Mining Company holdings and is owned by Franklin Township. The smelter complex is unique in the country, and perhaps the world, in the number and types of 19th and early 20th century buildings and landscape features that survive.  It is truly one of Lake Superior's historic gems and is under rehabilitation on-going.  Tours are available and you should contact the Quincy Historic Site for schedule information.
